Finding Answers
"The Internet's a
lifesaver for me," she explained and told us that she uses the Internet to
help her gather information, make decisions and ultimately to make
purchases online with small businesses that she otherwise would not
have the time to visit ... there's an ever constant flow of laundry,
cooking, bills, and muddy footprints that can "sometimes be
overwhelming" ...
... that flow never stops, never lets up ...
"No matter how many times I tackle laundry mountain, it's there
again the next day ... I’ve accepted that no matter what career I
may pursue, parenting will always be a full time job."
Saving Time
She explained that her shopping habits (like many other
consumers) have been formed under the pressures of work, home, and
family. Choosing where and when to make a purchase is neither
leisurely nor impulsive, she explained. Saving time and money is
absolutely imperative.
And that means gathering information, finding answers that will
help make life easier.
For our busy mom, it took an attempt to change a dirty diaper in
a crowded superstore, as her sons alternated back and forth between crawling under the
stalls in the women's dressing room with practicing their Jedi
skills in the lamp department, while her daughter simultaneously
argued at length why the glitter encrusted flip flops in her hand
were different from the three pairs she already owns, "for me to
fully realize that my approach to shopping needed a drastic
makeover."
Making Life Easier
"The internet has proven to be an invaluable resource for
this busy mom who no longer has time to window shop," she added. "I
often depend on sites where I can ask experts
for advice, read blogs, join a group or discussion or a workshop
... or view pictures and video of how to use items."
And the array of people helping people is amazing ...
Moms with kids looking for answers to make their lives
easier, bringing with them the day-in day-out knowledge gained
from real-life experience in the trenches
Hobbyists bringing their knowledge, tips and ideas about the
subject that they're "In the Know" about
Organizations trying to help make the world a better place,
bringing vast amounts of informational resources
Business owners bringing their unique knowledge and
experience acquired hands-on in their particular field of
expertise
